Useful insight needs visible limits.
A plain-language description of what the current motion-analysis experience is designed to do—and where human judgement still matters.
What it is for
GolfMotion analyses a golf swing visible in a supported recording and turns motion observations into progress signals and plain-language coaching cues.
Inputs and outputs
The system uses high-frame-rate video, Apple’s on-device pose estimation and, where supported and enabled, LiDAR depth, impact timing and Apple Watch motion. Its custom model turns the available signals into swing phases, analysis, scores and cues for practice review.
What affects a result
Camera angle, framing, lighting, occlusion, clothing, capture performance and movement outside the conditions represented during development can change what the system can observe.
What it is not
It is not a medical device, injury assessment, handicap calculation or substitute for a qualified coach. It cannot understand every intention, physical constraint or ball-flight outcome from video alone.
Responsible use
Compare similar recordings, check a cue against the video and keep a coach or your own judgement in the loop. Do not force a movement that causes pain or feels unsafe.
Privacy
Core analysis is designed to run on device. Uploads, public sharing and anonymous analytics are separate choices with their own controls.
This model card describes the product in plain language and will evolve with material changes to the system. For a specific concern, contact support@smotion.ai.
